Our Design Process
Every celebration begins with an idea. Our job is to take that idea, develop it, and create a design that feels considered from every angle.
At MICKNICS, design goes beyond choosing beautiful décor. We look at how the entire space works together, from color and texture to florals, tablescapes, ceremony details, signage, rentals, layouts, and the finishing touches that make everything feel complete.
Whether we're styling an intimate celebration, designing a wedding, creating a proposal, or transforming a venue for a private or corporate event, our approach begins the same way: understanding what you want the experience to feel like and building from there.
The result isn't a collection of individual décor pieces. It's a celebration designed as one complete experience.
Our Creative Process

01 — Discovery
Every design begins with a conversation.
We'll get to know your vision, priorities, style preferences, color palette, venue, guest count, and the experience you want to create. If you're still figuring some of that out, that's okay too. Part of our job is helping you turn inspiration and ideas into a clear direction.
02 — Design Concept
Next, we begin developing the creative direction for your celebration.
Depending on your project, your design concept may include inspiration imagery, color palettes, floral direction, tablescape selections, décor and rental recommendations, ceremony and reception styling, layouts, signage, and other visual details.
This becomes the creative blueprint we use to keep the entire celebration connected.
03 — Collaboration & Refinement
Design should feel collaborative.
We'll walk through the concept together, gather your feedback, and refine the details so the final direction feels like you. As plans develop, we'll also consider practical details such as your venue, guest count, layout, existing décor, and opportunities to repurpose design elements throughout the celebration
04 — Event Mockups (When Applicable)
For qualifying full-service styling and wedding design projects, we may develop additional visual planning tools such as venue layouts and realistic design mockups.
These allow you to see how individual ideas work together within the actual space before event day.

05 — Styling & Installation
This is where the plans become the space your guests experience.
Our team handles the MICKNICS design elements included in your project, from tablescapes and faux florals to signage, décor, rentals, ceremony installations, and finishing details. We style each element with the complete design in mind rather than treating each area as a separate setup.
When your design includes elements that transition throughout the event, we'll also plan those movements in advance so the celebration can evolve from one part of the day to the next.
06 — Celebrate
Once the space is ready, it's yours to enjoy.
You've already made the decisions, reviewed the design, and trusted us with the details. Our goal is for you to walk into the finished space and experience it as your guests will, without worrying about what still needs to be placed, adjusted, or finished.
You bring the reason to celebrate. We'll take care of making the space feel ready for it.
No two celebrations require exactly the same design process. The tools and level of design development used for your project will depend on its size, scope, venue, and services selected. Every MICKNICS design begins with the same foundation: thoughtful planning, collaboration, and a clear creative direction.
